Advanced Control System for Injection Molding

  • Built-In Diagnostics: The controller includes robust diagnostics for effective process monitoring, ensuring multiple shot consistency, repeatability, and data storage.

  • Online RLD Diagnostics: Troubleshoot logic and machine operations via web browsing with online RLD diagnostics.

  • IMPACT II Injection Process Control: Choose between open or closed-loop injection process control. IMPACT™ II dynamically creates a theoretical process model and employs hundreds of rules to automatically optimize the injection molding process, compensating for short and long-term deviations. Enjoy velocity or pressure-controlled fill with up to 10 ramping steps. Tailor transfer modes and configure multiple pack and hold stages. Achieve synchronized control of back pressure and RPM for up to 10 steps.

  • Temperature Control: The system provides eight isolated temperature control loops with the industry's best auto-tune algorithm. Benefit from a comprehensive range of built-in alarm functions, with auto-compensation available for sensor breaks. An optional 12-zone T/C-Analog card is also available.

  • Flexible I/O Options: The standard 3-card version offers 52 digital outputs and 36 digital inputs. Expand your I/O capabilities with optional cards, increasing digital outputs to 100 and digital inputs to 68. Choose from various chassis configurations, including 4-slot enclosed, six-slot, and eight-slot open chassis. Multiple chassis systems are on the horizon.

  • High-Speed Data Viewing: Access control data on Eurotherm's new line of high-speed Windows CE-based 12.1-inch TFT displays. These displays are equipped with USB ports and a compact flash interface for data storage. Store and load recipes, SPC data, screen captures, and logs from various memory devices.

  • Compatibility: The control system seamlessly integrates with Eurotherm's family of OPtima Touch PC-based operator stations, featuring Wonderware® InTouch-based applications for comprehensive plant-wide integration.

I/O Card Configuration:

​

  • Slot 1: High-speed analog and logic processing with dual DSPs. It offers analog inputs, DC logic inputs and outputs, and analog outputs with linearization. Additionally, it has slots for optional encoder, strain gauge, or digital I/O cards.

  • Slot 2: Provides 8 thermocouple inputs, 16 DC outputs, and a 24V DC power supply interface.

  • Slot 3: Equipped with 32 (24V DC, 2 Amp) digital outputs and 32 (24V DC) digital inputs. Optionally, it can support 12 thermocouple inputs and 16 DC outputs.

  • Slot 4: Optional slot with 32 (24V DC, 2 Amp) digital outputs and 32 (24V DC) digital inputs.
